THE GARDEN OF PERSIA
Grown at the heart of the mountain plateaus of Iran, Damask rose buds (Rosa × damascena) carry on a tradition of floral art and distillation rooted in the Persian Empire. Picked by hand in the earliest hours of the day to preserve the concentration of their essential oils, then dried to the standards of fine herbalism, they release in infusion notes that are suave, deep and beguiling — ideal for a moment of quiet and sensory harmony.

Persian Damask Rose Buds | Whole Dried Flower Buds • Traditional Persian Terroirs

Rosa x damascena: whole dried flower buds, Superior Grade.

Location and Growing Variables

Biotope

A morning harvest at the peak of maturity: the Damask Rose (Rosa damascena) represents the noblest lineage in perfumery and fine herbalism, celebrated for the molecular density of its volatile oils. This lot comes from preserved traditional Iranian terroirs, where the harvest follows an unchanging technical discipline: the buds are picked exclusively by hand at dawn, at the precise moment when the dew evaporates and the concentration of aromatic essences is at its height. This demand for timing ensures that each flower keeps its aromatic qualities intact before the heat of the day disperses them.

Harvest

An anatomical integrity for a pure expression: what distinguishes this lot is a drastic hand sorting that keeps only the flower buds perfectly closed and preserved whole. Unlike commercial standards, where flowers are broken, crushed or presented as scattered petals, these dried buds retain their original structure. The slow dehydration process fixes the natural rose-purple color and locks in the native geraniol and citronellol.

Brewing Parameters

01

Preparation: Place 3 to 5 whole rose buds in a 200 ml cup. Pour barely trembling water, ideally heated to no more than 85 °C (water that is too hot would cook the petals and mask the subtlety of the aromas). Leave to infuse, covered, for 5 to 7 minutes, allowing the buds to open slowly, then strain.

02

Herbal pairings: Damask Rose pairs harmoniously with Osmanthus flowers, with tears of soft resins, or as a finishing touch in a finely plucked white tea.

03

Precautions for use: A natural product intended for adults. As a precaution, regular use is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Keep the glass jar tightly closed, in a cool place away from humidity and direct light, to maintain the brilliance of the color and the fidelity of the fragrance.
